Police shrink (Elizabeth Banks) is called in to talk  him back in. ~ Excellent cast with Ed Harris, Jamie Bell, Genesis Rodriguez, An-  thony Mackie, Edward Burns, Titus Welliver, William Sadler. BLOOD RED SKY (2021)

If you watch this on Netflix and only speak English you may want to have the audio  on English or English 5.1. Then hang on to your teeth because, holy crap, this is not  your father’s hijacking. Not having read anything about this film I didn’t know what  to expect and was pleasantly horrified. Fast moving and a no-dozer. ~ Great cast  with German actress Peri Baumeister giving a blood curdling yet sympathethic per-  formance. Director PeterThorwa rth

COP SHOP (2021)

Holy twists and turns. Action ladened and bullet ridden… who is really the psy-  chopath? Excellent cast playing their characters to the hilt! ~ Frank Grillo, Gerard  Butler, a scary Toby Huss and a beautifully understated yet strong Alexis Louder.  Director Joe Carnahan

INVENTING ANNA (2022)

Image
True story (except for the parts that were made up) of Anna Delvey who conned  New York’s social elite out of their money. First noticed Julia Garner in the Netflix  series Ozark where she played a very convincing, street-smart trailer dweller from  the hills of the Missouri Ozarks. Here she plays the Russian born, German Heiress  and con artist, Anna Delvey, with total conviction and a compelling accent which  again proves her to be one hell of a talented actress! Also excellent performances  by Anna Chlumsky and Arian Moayed. Creator Shonda Rhimes.

Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss Book Review

Image
Stars : 5 out of 5 Pros : Fun with various sounds Cons : I don’t hear any cons The Bottom Line : A book filled with sounds That demands reading aloud All ages will love Sounds Like a Fun Book for All Ages One reason I still enjoy picking up kids’ books is just how much fun they can be.   Dr. Seuss is a master of this, and it’s hard to think of one that is more fun than Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? It’s a simple book.   There’s really no plot, but as we read, we find out about all the noises that Mr. Brown can imitate.   Yes, he can imitate a cow, but there’s also a cork, rain, a train, and a butterfly.   Yes, you read that right. As you can see, this book can get a bit silly at times.   It is Dr. Seuss after all.   But that’s what makes it fun.   What also makes it fun is that all of Mr. Brown’s noises are part of the text, so when you are reading this book out loud, you get to make those noises, too. This book is classified as an early reader.   While some of the words aren’t your

Stars : 3 out of 5 Pros : Better than average entry for the series Cons : Weighed down by poor editing (and the usual series issues) The Bottom Line : Fishing tournament Brings murder victim to town Hannah bakes for clues Hannah Goes Fishing for a Killer Every spring for years, I’ve gone for a visit to Lake Eden to see what is going on with Hannah Swensen.   This year, we are treated to a new case with Caramel Pecan Roll Murder . A big fishing competition has come to town, which is a great thing for the Lake Eden Inn.   Since it sits right on Eden Lake, it is playing host to the competitors.   Unfortunately, the inn’s pastry chef is out due to a family emergency, so Sally, the owner, asks Hannah if she will step in and help out for the week.   With everything under control at The Cookie Jar, Hannah is only too happy to help out her friend. The first morning, Hannah quickly discovers that the celebrity host, Sonny Bowman, is too handsome for his own good, and he knows how to take adv

Black Widow Movie Review

Image
Stars : 4 out of 5 Pros : Action and fun Cons : Earlier release would have been nice; slow prologue The Bottom Line : Black Widow spotlight Does set up some new plot threads With action, humor “I Have Friends.”   “People Who Have Friends Don’t Call Me.” While I’ve been watching the Marvel series on Disney+ as they’ve been released, I’ve fallen behind on the movies.   I’m trying to catch back up, so I sat down to watch Black Widow . As those up on the franchise would easily guess, the bulk of this movie takes place before the results of Endgame .   After a prologue where we see some of Natasha’s childhood, we join her at the point in the Avengers saga after the events of Civil War .   While some of the Avengers have been arrested, Natasha (Scarlett Johansson) is on the run, currently trying to lay low in Europe.   She may have finally been able to drop off the map until she gets a mysterious package from her foster sister Yelena (Florence Pugh). This package ties back into Natasha’s
